Year End KCUC goodness!

It's been an exciting year for KCUC -- many riders took the jaunt to the Paris-Brest-Paris 1,200km, including our own Bob Burns (P-B-P #5?!), Karen and Greg Winterhalter, KCBC's David Mathews, Barry Pener, Rod Geisert, Greg Pottorff and John Grunzke.

Our own Permanent's coordinator Spencer has been chasing his sixth consecutive RUSA R-12 award... that's 72 months straight of a 200k or better! ...and pulled it off just last week with ride #12 for 2011. As if that wasn't enough, he's also one of the few randonneurs to grab 10,000 kilometers in brevets for the year, tossing in another 100km RUSA ride this month to cap off that effort.

BIG congrats to a BIG year for all our KCUC riders!!!

RUSA Membership Services now ONLINE!

In the past, RUSA membership and many other services were performed via the US Postal Service, as we sometimes affectionately call "snail-mail"... but, effective today, RUSA takes a leap forward!

The new RUSA Online Membership Services page is now LIVE on the RUSA website, which allows new members to sign-up, and existing members to renew, quickly and easily!

The "Join Now" link at the top of this page has been so updated, but you can also click HERE to take advantage of this great new service.

It's timely, too -- remember, RUSA memberships generally expire at the end of each calendar year, so be sure to log in and renew soon!

This is a modified, exploded, view of the design for the KCUC cycling jersey.

These will be made available in either short-sleeve synthetic fabric, or in long or short-sleeve wool, from Woolistic. If you are on the KCUC email list, you will have seen details by now, so this is mainly to show the design:

It's a crude rendering, and not a proof - this is simply to show placement of logos and colors. RUSA's logo is on the right sleeve, "KCUC" on the left sleeve. The side panels are black, as is the large middle stripe at chest level on the garment. This black middle stripe is framed top and bottom by subtle gold stripes, before transitioning to the overall red color.

This is the BACK view of the jersey. The front view is identical, with the exception of the Merckx quote. Synthetic jerseys will be outfitted with 3 "extra large" back pockets and reflective trim. The wool jerseys are as-spec'd normally by Woolistic, and is similar in approach and construction to the famous Seattle International Randonneur's blue/white jerseys.
